About
Helen
Watson-Jones
Helen Watson-Jones is a contemporary figurative artist whose fascination with the human figure began at an early age.
As a child, she borrowed books from her local library and taught herself to draw, developing an enduring interest in capturing people, character and expression.
She went on to study at Chesterfield College of Art in the early 1980s and gained an A Level in Art & Design. Her artistic practice has continued throughout her life, with her work exhibited and sold through galleries, art fairs and online, reaching collectors both in the UK and internationally.
Helen has jointly run a gallery alongside other artists and later maintained a studio within a prominent Midlands gallery. Today, she works from her home studio, concentrating on expressive figurative work.
Combining charcoal drawing with acrylic paint, her paintings explore the figure through line, movement, texture and colour. Her current collections move from quieter studies of individual women to the energy and rhythm of dancers and musicians.
